Carpet
The carpet in your home can tell a lot about you. Low profile carpets show your industrial and creative sides. A plush carpet can add comfort to any room and shows that your not afraid to get comfortable. Add flair to a room by choosing colored carpeting like Cranberry, Holly Leaf Green or Safflower Blue, or go traditional with Winter Wheat Beige. The choices are only limited by your imagination.

There are many different types of carpet to choose from the most popular of those are Berber and plush. There are a great variety of colors in each type to choose from, the possibilities are endless. All of our carpets have warranties and stain protection.

Carpet is manufactured typically in widths of 12’, 13’ 6” or 15’; seaming is necessary for the complete installation of your carpet. Seam visibility will depend on your selection of carpeting material. Although seams will be as unobtrusive as feasible, an invisible carpet seam is not possible. Choosing a carpet with longer threads will make seams easer to hide however, carpets will lower profiles like Berber are more durable and can be very fashionable despite more evident seams. The color of your carpeting will also effect the visibility of seams along with the chosen room lighting. For more details see your Design Consultant.

Hardwood Flooring
To add a beautiful, warm and natural touch to your home, hardwood floors have always been a popular choice. They also increase the resale value of your home. Different species of trees have different characteristics of wood so be sure to become familiar with the specific hardwood that you will be using on your floors. For example if you want flooring with a pronounced grain and the distinct look of hardwood you may want to consider an oak. However if you want a cleaner look with a subtle grain, maple wood would be your best bet.

For an exotic look and feel to your flooring, consider non-conventional hardwood such as bamboo or Brazilian Cherry. A visit to our flooring contractor’s showroom is a good idea in order to make sure you get the look and feel to your home that you expect. Also remember that hardwood is a natural product and may contain natural variations in their color, texture, and grain and these are not considered defects.

Another hardwood floor expectation is that moisture and temperature changes will cause the floor to expand and contract depending on the season. These changes can sometimes produce hairline cracks. Additionally, slight height variations in the wood are also considered normal. The majority of our hardwood floors are installed, sanded and stained in the field.

Natural Stone Flooring
The look of natural stone flooring has always been recognized for it’s beauty, elegance and magnificence. The benefits to natural stone flooring are almost limitless because it is a long lasting, durable, low maintenance product that will increase the resale value of any home. It’s ease of care and it’s beauty will last well over a lifetime.

Just like the natural stone used for Countertops you should remember that because it is a natural product, each slab of natural stone is different and will never look exactly like the stone installed in other applications. All natural stone is cut from giant pieces of rock that is removed from the earth. If you inspect any natural stone product you may notice some irregularities such as lines, veins, crystallizations, and texture variances. These are not defects of the stone, but the natural characteristics of the stone chosen that add to the beauty and elegance of the flooring. Just as with countertops, it may be asked that you choose your palates of tiles or slabs of stone before the product is installed, this helps to ensure your satisfaction with the finished floor.

Tile Flooring
Who says tile is just for bathrooms? For centuries tile has been distinguished as a durable and striking material used in various applications throughout the home. Tile can come in various sizes, shapes, colors and textures as well as a variety of materials. Different laying techniques can give a different look to your floors depending on your taste. Tile is also versatile in the fact that it can be cut into different shapes and sizes to make patterns and give your floor a custom feel to it.

Ceramic tiles are most the commonly used tiles for custom pattern work. They are man-made so there is control on the color (dye lots), texture, patterns, and size of every piece. They can be dyed to look like natural stone with intentional color variations to make them more realistic and they can even give them a texture by processing them in special molds. Virtually any design you’ve ever imagined can be replicated and any pattern you choose can be laid.

Vinyl Flooring
Sheet vinyl manufacturers such as Armstrong and Mannington offer different levels of vinyl with a variety of patterns to choose from. Some of the most popular are patterns that are inspired by nature, including patterns that replicate the beauty found in natural materials.

Vinyl comes in two basic types: Printed, and Inlaid. Printed vinyl is made by printing an image onto the material and then protecting the material with “wear layers”. Inlaid vinyl is constructed by layering millions for tiny colored granules to produce a thicker, stronger vinyl.

Sheet vinyl is produced in 6’ and 12’ widths and when laid together will produce seams. Darker colors and more complex patterns will hide seams better however, just like carpeting, you should not expect to have a “seamless” floor.
